Several clients have already been using GGNI's knowledge and expertise. A brief overview:
The efficient use of natural gas for a paper mill
A Meditiranian engineering company was looking for support for the project phasing of a gas network. Senior Expert Will Knops gave advice on the approach and coached the project management. It started with a study of the geographical situation, a translation of the query of the client and an inventory of the technical possibilities. The second step was a global design with the basic engineering, cost estimates and a study into achievability. The client: 'The added value of the Senior Expert was large. He is a professional who observes the proceedings critically from a distance and advices on the approach to the project. We would like to continue the cooperation.' Technical workshop in the Middle East
A Meditiranian institute for energy and environment asked GGNI to have his Senior Experts to give lectures during a two-day workshop on the safety and combustion of natural gas. Different themes around construction and design of distribution networks and industrial installations were discussed for an audience of 50 interested engineers. Senior Experts Henri Jaartsveld, Henk Vliem and Arie Krijgsman were involved in the implantation. The client: 'We have developed the content and the materials in close contact. The content matched the question of the participants perfectly. We have found a valuable partner in GGNI. Senior Experts have relevant technical knowledge from practical experience. Separating transport and trade organisation
The Lithuanian government is planning to unbundle the energy transport system from the trade organisation; a politically delicate process. In the Netherlands, unbundling has been completed recently. Lessons learned from the Dutch case could facilitate Lithuania in its process. GGNI composed a mission of Senior Experts and Dutch governmental policy makers. GGNI contributed to a better process of negotiations between the parties involved, as a third and independent party. Joep Wijnands, Dutch ambassador: ’A very successful mission, for both the Lithuanian government and GGNI. The Lithuanian president, prime minister and the ministry of energy benefited from the insights given. A year later the Prime Minster consulted GGNI again, this time to advise him on possible options to develop a gas market. Postbus 289
